Bretton Woods Research

Macroeconomic Service

Who We Are

Bretton Woods Research, LLC is a macroeconomic research firm that analyzes the political economy from a supply-side framework. We assess fiscal, monetary and regulatory policy, in addition to political and geopolitical currents, in order to identify and anticipate risks and opportunities for growth and equity appreciation in the global economy.

Started in 2006, Bretton Woods Research continues to provide macroeconomic research for Wall Street institutional money management firms. We follow in the analytical tradition of Polyconics, Inc., which offered macroeconomic research for more than twenty-five years before transitioning to a foundation in 2006.

Why Bretton Woods Research?

We provide a singular, coherent, and compelling framework with which to interpret and anticipate events in the global political economy. Clients often remark that the unique, big picture perspective we offer has been ‘like a compass’ and an invaluable part of their investment decision process.

At Bretton Woods Research, we pride ourselves on continuing with the great analytical tradition developed by late mentor and legendary supply-sider, Jude Wanniski. So, with a keen eye on gold, the Polaris to the universe of prices and a tutored understanding of the market, Bretton Woods consistently provides superior forecasting to its clients and an indispensable, day-to-day surveillance of the macroeconomy.

“I had the good fortune of being a good friend of Jude Wanniski and a client of his from 1981 until the time of his passing.  Over that period of time, I had a chance to observe an array of economic and political changes through which only the classical model, the ‘supply side model,’ could successfully navigate its adherents…I can state in an unqualified fashion that the analyses provided by the scion company, Bretton Woods Research, run by Paul Hoffmeister and Vlad Signorelli, is as good as any produced by Jude and these previous associates.  In fact, better than any other classical economist, Bretton Woods Research has explained the dynamics affecting monetary policy that reconciled what Alan Greenspan had called the ‘conundrum’ of the bond market.  It was Bretton Woods Research’s knowledge of what I call the Wanniskian correllary, that is, the effect of geopolitical events on money demand, that allowed them to provide the unique monetary and bond insights that no one else could provide. I consider Paul and Vlad to be essential reading for anyone that has to allocate capital as a money manager.”

“99% of what I read, in the financial press, is garbage. But Bretton Woods Research delivers the most important macroeconomic information an investor needs to know. Because of the insight provided by Bretton Woods Research I’ve been able to double my gains within the space of a month! A good analogy is that BWR functions like a weathervane. With Bretton Woods Research, I basically take their reports and ask myself, “how would legendary supply-sider Jude Wanniski invest given the major variables as presented by Bretton Woods?”

Bretton Woods routinely demonstrates that its brand of economic analysis leads to outstanding asset allocation decisions…A clear-thinking alternative voice, ably supported.  A voice that needs to be heard.

I highly recommend the work of Bretton Woods Research.  Bretton Woods is the best continuation I’ve seen of the macroeconomic service I enjoyed with Jude Wanniski’s Polyconomics, Inc.”

I look forward to the research notes from BWR everyday and find them very helpful. Of particular are the periodic, timely pieces on topics of immediate note and importance. They are among the most carefully thought out and prompt flash analysis I receive.”

Bretton Woods Research has made many terrific calls over the past few years that I’ve worked with them. Their economic framework and analysis has done a better job of consistently explaining and predicting economic and market developments than any other strategy or research firm that I am aware of. Their work has become an important part of our investment process.”
